I’ve been obsessed with content creation for years. I love writing so much, but creating a good writing piece takes time and requires massive effort.
That’s why repurposing my writing is necessary to get the best of each story. However, is it done effectively? That’s a whole other story.
After numerous failed attempts, I learned that the secret to effective content repurposing is to use the appropriate tactics and tools.
The Reality of Repurposing Content!
Repurposing sounds easy in theory, but in practice, it can quickly become overwhelming. It demands:
Time
Effort
A solid understanding of platform metrics
The right tools for the job
Each platform—whether it’s Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, or Medium—has its quirks, audience expectations, and content styles. A uniform strategy is insufficient. Worse, poorly executed repurposing can derail your focus and waste precious time.
My Journey: Lessons from the Trenches!
I’ve experimented with repurposing my written content through other channels, such as YouTube, for years. My goal is simple: get the best out of my writing and discover other opportunities without wasting excessively my money or my time.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve tried to repurpose my articles and stories through YouTube and other channels like Substack, ben-abdelhafid.com, etc.
For example, I repurposed my jiujitsu-news blog content by creating a YouTube channel for it. I got great results, and today, this channel has 2,634,701 views and more than 3,700 subscribers.
But you shouldn’t be fooled by these numbers; they mean nothing. The channel isn’t monetized.
Thousands of hours were wasted creating videos, and the worst thing was getting distracted from my main and important goal.
Not learning the lessons! I tried to repurpose my MMA-JiuJitsu blog content by creating another YouTube channel for it.
This time, metrics were not better than the previous experience; today this channel has gotten 512,008 views so far and more than 820 subscribers. But it is monetized!
I’m not stopping, though!

The Turning Point: Leveraging Vsub
Determined to streamline my workflow and maintain focus, I started using Vsub, an AI-powered tool designed to make video creation faster and easier (You can check this tool using this affiliate link; thanks).
This tool facilitates and automates my workflow, making it easier to create various types of videos, including Reddit stories, quizzes, X stories, etc.
But what suits my writing repurposing is the AI video creation. Here’s how it works:
Choose my target language; obviously, “English.”
Choose a template, whether cinematic, anime, comic, etc. This controls the theme of video AI images.
Copy and paste your writing content into the transcript area or use a recorded audio.
Enter your image context words.
Press Continue
After the video is created, you may want to adjust subtitles, change bad images, etc.
Publish your video when you’re satisfied with the results.
